Update (15:34 ET):
Government officials told ABC News that the Tesla Cybertruck explosion near the Trump Las Vegas Hotel in Nevada on Wednesday is being investigated as a “possible terrorist act.”
Here’s more from ABC:
Investigators don’t know what caused the explosion, such as whether something was wrong with the vehicle or whether something external prompted it. The main focus of the probe is on identifying what is behind the explosion.
The official who introduced the probe told ABC News that Tesla Cybertruck had a load of fireworks-style mortars on board. Investigators are working quickly to figure out the motive and whether the driver was going to put the explosion down and why.
Until the motive is identified and other options ruled out, the police will treat the explosion as a possible crime and a possible terrorist act. The gathering and investigation of evidence is ongoing.

With everyone on Bourbon Street early this morning after the New Orleans “terrorist attack,” reports of a “boom” and/or “vehicle fire” in Las Vegas flooded X moments ago.
It turns out that the “boom” was caused by a Tesla Cybertruck caught fire in front of the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, possibly due to a lithium battery fire.
Wow.
What are the odds?
