Ineffective Restriction or Effective Measure? The Ministry’s Plan to Limit Alcohol Consumption through Licenses Sparks Divided Opinions

Everything old is new again! The Estonian state is bankrupt, and one foolish decision follows another. The year started with an attack on families by the Drama Theatre and ERR—on arguably the most important topic in the country!

Right before that, the Fools’ Party (RE) foolishly raised taxes, canceling its earlier, equally foolish, euphoric policies. However, unlike before, when the tax burden fell mainly on wealthier individuals, now it is shared equally between the rich and the poor (VAT increase, car tax, excise hikes, cuts to benefits for large families). A true socialist democratic equality…

Note: Why was the earlier income tax reduction a foolish policy? Because the resulting budget shortfall was filled with general taxes (like fuel excise), which again disproportionately burdened the poorer population.

Now, we’ve returned to the topic of alcohol sales licenses, as if alcohol sales were the root of all evil. Let me tell you—our cupboards are stocked full of alcohol, and the supply grows faster than it shrinks. Anyone who wants to drink will always find a way to do so.

And if alcohol isn’t available, it will be replaced with drugs. Not to mention the resurgence of bootleg alcohol and similar issues. Is that truly a better solution?

Perhaps we should focus on why people drink excessively?

  • Maybe we should try to reduce societal stress?
  • Maybe we should stop spreading war fear and recklessly wasting money on Ukraine?
  • Maybe we should try fixing the country’s economy instead of taxing people into poverty?
  • Maybe we should put an end to unconstitutional e-elections, which have been manipulated to keep the Fools’ Party in power for the past 20 years?
  • Maybe we should cultivate spiritual values instead of debasing them with twisted ideas?

In today’s Estonia, led by the foolish people of the Fools’ Party, even teetotalers will soon start drinking, because life has been turned into a nightmare in every sphere, leaving people searching for an escape—either consciously or subconsciously.

Maybe it’s time for RE to stop ruining the state and its people?
