Indrek Pähnapuu: “Fewer and fewer children are being born in Estonia: a new anti-record in August.”

August 2025 confirmed the demographic decline in Estonia: 798 children were born – nearly 20% fewer than two years ago (993 in 2023).
The drop is particularly sharp in Ida-Virumaa: from 58 newborns in August 2024 to 39 in August 2025 (–32.8%). At the same time, mortality remains stable – around 1,200 deaths per month, while marriages are down (–13.7% per year) and divorces are up (+4.2%).

Instead of clapping hands on TV and telling the people in the countryside that now we will make life better… vote for us…they should first take a long look in the mirror.
I would look them straight in the eyes and ask… who are the ones bringing this enormous instability and hunger into the country?
You walk around the towns with jam-covered smiles, buying people with pens, while at the same time imposing sanctions and other nonsense that only stifles development.
Such bloody hypocrisy that it literally makes one sick.
Estonia urgently needs a total restart, and this whole bunch must be sent on vacation for good.
