Enni Vaarmann: The siren was silent, the sound of a fart and laughter echoed – and the stench lingered

Estonia tested its emergency sirens. Or at least they said they did. Many heard nothing.
If that was a test, it completely failed – and the people were left in the dark again.
It all resembled a sandbox game more than real state-level crisis preparedness.
Like someone just “tried” to see if it works – and well, it didn’t.
And if that’s not embarrassing, then what is?

Imagine this:
Doctors tell you:
“We don’t know if the anesthesia works, but let’s try it in a real operation.”
Absurd?
That’s exactly what the government did when it decided to “test” the emergency sirens on people – without the system actually functioning.
And now they act like everything is fine.

And the most embarrassing part:
Instead of a siren, all you heard was the sound of a fart – and the stink stayed in the air.
Taxpayers paid, the people heard nothing, and in the end, they’re just “analyzing.”
Once again, no one is held accountable.
Millions spent – but in a real crisis, we might have to rely on TikTok to get the warning.

Summary:
– The emergency system doesn’t work.
– The public is left uninformed, but the money is taken.
– Tests are done on us, not within the system.
– And responsibility – as always – is nonexistent.

If the state wants us to trust it, it must first show that it knows what it’s doing.
Right now, it feels like they’re running drills with our lives – like playing with toys in a sandbox.
Depressing. What must the world think of us, since the stench still lingers?
