BREAKING: Pfizergate scandal escalates: Ursula von der Leyen and Pfizer CEO Bourla charged in Italy with abuse of office, grievous bodily harm and manslaughter

The pharmaceutical scandal surrounding the procurement of Covid-19 vaccines has reached a new level. A major criminal complaint has been filed in Italy against European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla and BioNTech founder Ugur Sahin, accusing them of corruption, abuse of office, causing grievous bodily harm and even negligent homicide.

The complaint was filed by several Italian associations, including OSA APS, OSA Polizia and SFD (Guardia di Finanza). They cite internal Pfizer documents released as part of a US lawsuit – known as  the Pfizer documents. The nearly 450,000 pages of internal studies and safety documents allegedly contain evidence of systematic concealment of risks from the mRNA vaccine Comirnaty.

Shadow law and sealed deals?

The initiators of the criminal complaint accuse Ursula von der Leyen in particular of concluding vaccine contracts worth billions with Pfizer in her position as President of the European Commission – without public procurement, parliamentary oversight or transparent pricing. Explosive: von der Leyen allegedly negotiated with Bourla personally via text messages, the content of which the European Commission later “could not find”.

A Luxembourg court ruled in May 2025 that the Commission had breached transparency rules. The judges accused Brussels of “lack of cooperation.” The EU had refused to disclose this information until recently.

Documents indicate toxic side effects

The plaintiffs say Pfizer’s documents show a number of side effects, some serious, during the first 90 days of the vaccine’s launch. Several thousand cases of myocarditis, neurological damage and death were known but were deliberately not disclosed. Despite this, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) approved the vaccine and the Commission purchased it in large quantities.

“We are talking about a possible state crime at the highest level,” a spokesperson for the complainants explained in a video published by the news portal Il Giornale d’Italia. “It is no longer just about bad decisions – it is about a systematic deception of the public, which can have deadly consequences.”

Politically explosive: Trump’s new stance on vaccine testing

The case is gaining momentum in the United States, where the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) was recently reappointed under President Donald Trump. The most prominent new member is Dr. Robert Malone, a co-developer of mRNA and a critic of COVID policy. In an interview, Malone argued that  all vaccines — including long-standing ones — can now be reevaluated: “Everything is on the table.”

Summary: Between a judicial bombshell and public outrage

While the European Commission remains silent, citing “legal action,” political and legal tensions are simmering beneath the surface. Whether proceedings will actually be initiated against Pfizer and the EU’s top management remains open. One thing is clear: public pressure is growing – not just in Italy, but across Europe.

What was once considered a rescue operation is now increasingly becoming a prosecutor’s case. There is no end in sight, but the demand for clarity is louder than ever.
