I, Mario Maripuu, have been active in politics since 2019. My journey began in the Finnish branch of EKRE, where I quickly gained momentum as a board member and recruitment manager, later moving on to the leadership of EKRE’s USA branch — a chapter I closed in 2024. I’m deeply thankful to the Estonian Conservative People’s Party for the invaluable experience I gained there.
Today, I’m part of Mike Calamus’s team and the eestieest.com news portal, where I work as both editor and host.
Throughout my political career, my main mission has been supporting the rise and unification of new political forces in Estonia, whether through alternative media, organizations, or individual efforts — be it Kunglarahvas, WCH Estonia, Põliseestlased ja Maarahvas, the Estonian People’s Party (ERE), Heikki Pettai and Uudistekeskus, Elvis Brauer and Moraalne Kompass, Timo Kalaus with Virumeedia, or Peeter Proos with Vanglaplaneet, and many more. I also promote conservative values through my brand Konservatiivne Mõtiskleja, presenting myself on social media as a political influencer.
Why Plan B?
I’ve been following Andro Roos and the development of Plan B since its early days, when it wasn’t yet a party but still part of the Centre Party. I already appreciated Andro’s ideas and admired the strength of his team. The only reason I didn’t join back then was precisely Plan B’s attachment to another party, which, in my opinion, restricted its political freedom.
When I met Andro in person at a café in Tartu, it became immediately clear to me: now is the time to grab the bull by the horns and help build a truly new progressive party in Estonia. I’ve joined the core team of the party, where my ideas are no longer just text in alternative media articles — I now have the opportunity to bring them to life.
Plan B welcomes free thinkers. We don’t cancel people for differing opinions — unlike some other parties that just show you the door. We have no problem going against mainstream narratives because that’s exactly how we breathe new life into Estonia.
We’re a somewhat revolutionary party — here to break apart the stagnant political system that has long plagued our nation. As I’ve mentioned on Timo Kalaus’s show: Estonia must move toward post-party politics, but to dismantle the system, we must first become part of it. Plan B is performing an abortion on the old regime, making way for new political forces with whom we are ready to cooperate — regardless of whether we end up in the opposition or coalition.
It’s time to end the bickering in the parliament and government that serves no one and replace it with respectful, democracy-based cooperation — whether you’re a conservative, liberal, or socialist.
Plan B is the balancing force on Estonia’s political stage!
That might sound heretical coming from a conservative, but as mentioned at the Conservatives’ Conference organized by ERE — conservatism and liberalism must be in balance.
If we don’t achieve that balance, dystopia awaits us all. Right now, that dystopia is being engineered by globalist liberals, whose main mission seems to be establishing a globalist dictatorship through the federalization of the EU — at the cost of the Republic of Estonia. Liberals must be held accountable by conservatives so we can restore sovereignty and harmony through constitutional order.
Plan B returns decision-making power to the people, supporting every effort to abolish political e-voting in Estonia. The annulment of e-elections is a fundamental first step — without it, no other reforms can be implemented, plain and simple.
I don’t want to sound like a cliché saying, “We’ve made a new party and now everything will magically improve.” Change won’t happen overnight. It takes hard work and a commitment to unite the Estonian people. That means turning this party into Estonia’s largest people’s movement.
