Is this the Estonia we once dreamed of?
Is this the Estonia we want to move toward?
Is this the Estonia worth living in, working for, and raising children in?
🛑 Something is very wrong in Estonian politics.
Yesterday, Andro Roos, together with Vambola Kolbakov, represented the position of 1,864 Estonian citizens before the Constitutional Committee of the Riigikogu.
The message was simple and clear:
Kaja Kallas and Kadri Simson should not have been awarded the Order of the National Coat of Arms for “advancing the state.”
What kind of advancement have they delivered? They’ve been dismantling it.
👉 An example? There are countless, but here’s one particularly stark case:
In April, electricity produced in Estonia cost €23/MWh, but reached consumers at €255/MWh — after adding grid fees, VAT, renewable energy fees, and excise duties.
That is not state-building. That is state demolition. Undoubtedly. Because a functional and affordable energy system is the foundation of every independent nation.
Yet both coalition and opposition MPs acted as if gagged — unable to speak plainly and instead parroting the usual rhetoric about how things are fine “in the big picture,” all while clinging to false politeness.
💬 Reform Party MP Timo Suslov claimed that Kauppalehti writes: Estonian exports are growing!
Bold words. But let him say that face to face:
To workers. To small business owners. To pensioners. To young families thinking of emigrating.
💬 Centre Party MP Lauri Laats said revoking a state decoration would set a bad precedent.
We believe that stripping an award from someone dismantling the nation would set a very good precedent — one that restores national dignity.
It would be a symbolic step showing that a national honor is not an empty gesture handed out to anyone who simply manages to clutch power like loot.
💬 Ando Kiviberg nodded and slipped by like a fish – quiet, vague, and noncommittal.
💬 Jaak Valge, the only one who spoke with a straight back, reminded us:
👉 The 1920 Estonian Constitution abolished state decorations entirely.
Maybe it’s time to reconsider who we’re awarding — and why. Or whether we should be awarding them at all. Perhaps it’s time to first rebuild the statehood that’s already been torn down.
🎞 And amidst all this political theater, the average Estonian walks silently through the fog.
Like the hedgehog in the cartoon “Hedgehog in the Fog” – quiet, contemplative, a little lost.
Searching for light, for meaning, for Estonia.
But with every distant voice comes yet another wave of political smoke — another curtain of fog.
Where is the Estonia worth living in with pride and security?
PLAN B DOES NOT PLAN TO REMAIN SILENT.
PLAN B PLANS TO ACT.
PLAN B PLANS TO CHANGE POLITICS IN ESTONIA.
This is not an angry movement – it is a clear and calm awakening.
It is a call to those who feel that something is deeply wrong… and that it’s not too late.
If you feel the same – come. Help build a new Estonia where the hedgehog no longer has to wander lost in the fog.
