In the liberal Western discourse and media, a new narrative is taking hold – attempts are being made to equate Trump’s search for dialogue with Putin to the so-called Munich Agreement, where Britain and France, fearing a world war, effectively handed over Czechoslovakia to Hitler without involving Czechoslovakia in the negotiations.

However, in light of the facts known today, the situation is quite the opposite. Back then, it was Hitler who flexed his muscles, armed himself, and threatened the West with attack, prompting the British and French to strike a deal. Historically, these two powers have rarely cared about smaller nations when their own fate was at stake.

The current conflict in Ukraine, on the other hand, was primarily driven by the consistent actions of the UK and the US in pushing Ukraine into a confrontation with Russia. This began with the 2013 coup, Ukraine’s militarization, and arrogant attempts to reshape Central Europe’s security structure under NATO’s banner (e.g., plans to take over Sevastopol from Russia, the construction of a military port in Mariupol, etc.). The approval of genocide in Donbas and other provocations could be listed extensively. All of this was carried out despite Russia’s repeated reminders since 2008 about red lines that should not be crossed.

The arrogance and self-confidence of the British and Americans, fueled by their belief in their hegemonic status in the world, has caused harm for centuries and continues to do so today. This false status, sustained by inertia, prevents them from facing reality. Meanwhile, their vassals, voiceless and adrift in the current of history caused by these two powers, continue to follow them blindly.

The final act will hopefully bring hope to much of the world but will spell catastrophe for these vassals, who have been complicit in the authorship and execution of this disaster. I do not envy you.
