We all remember how the coronavirus pandemic began. Those who believed the propaganda coming from their televisions walked around with rags over their faces and called everyone else anti-maskers and granny killers. Then the vaccines arrived, and the AK party faithful were first in line to offer up their arms. Once again, anyone unwilling to take part in what they saw as experimental human trials was branded an anti-vaxxer.
Those who got the shot out of fear of dying, unfortunately, remain at the forefront of the death statistics for sudden deaths and cancer to this day.
Then the war in Ukraine began, and those same AK party faithful, who had been such devoted fans of the coronavirus narrative and the vaccines, stopped believing in the pandemic overnight and immediately began cheering on the war. Ministries, local governments and state institutions all turned blue and yellow. No one was allowed to question the noble cause of supporting the war – otherwise, you were instantly branded anti-state and a Putinist.
My thanks to Delfi investigative journalist Martin Laine, who included me among Estonia’s 30 most influential “Putinists”, alongside many other well-known Estonians who immediately saw through the whole mess. Big business and the siphoning off of money – everyone involved got a generous cut and greased their palms. Before long, the wrongdoing began to come to light and people started getting caught. It began with Lehtme and Slava Ukraini, and today the entire defence establishment, Pevkur included, is implicated in throwing away more than a billion euros.
To sum it all up, those so-called anti-maskers were right again, this time about the war in Ukraine, while the system pulled the wool over the AK party faithful’s eyes once more. I wonder when an AK true believer will realise that, to the system, they are nothing more than a useful idiot – a sheep that can be shorn in the glow of the television and, once there’s no wool left to take, slaughtered too.
If we live in a country governed by the rule of law, then the thieves of public money should be choosing their uniforms at Tartu Prison today: yellow stripes on a blue background, or blue stripes on a yellow one! SLAVA, DAMN IT! 🇺🇦
