Hannes Võrno – Like an Ox Led to the Slaughter

Those who have realized the truth before the end and taken from life what they can may indeed appear to move through the chaos of this world without principles, seizing every opportunity that the weaknesses of the system present. Like an ox led to the slaughter, they move with certainty — not because of conviction, but because they feel they have no other choice, believing that survival requires grabbing everything within reach.

But this is never a final victory. Even if such “plundering” brings temporary benefit, it empties the soul and leaves behind a vast hollow space. The final step of the ox on its way to slaughter is inevitable: it will not escape, because it never asked what is true and eternal — only how to satisfy itself with momentary gain and comfort.

If we look deeper into this situation, we see that what triumphs for a moment may ultimately be meaningless. Those who believe in truth may not win easily or immediately, but in the end — through the purest and most lasting values — they may become the real victors.

Those who plunder may have their share for a time, but in the end, they may lose themselves in a world without clarity — because they failed to sense God’s guidance and never understood that true strength comes from transparency and truth.
