Climate realist Tony Heller went to X to draw attention to climate-related disinformation and disinformation campaigns waged by far-left corporate media to the global public.
Heller was referring to a 2007 BBC News article titled ‘Arctic summers ice-free ‘by 2013’‘, which warned readers of the supposed danger that “the latest modeling studies show that arctic waters can be ice-free in just 5-6 years in summer”.
The BBC article’s baseless claim was intended to instill climate fear in the public in order to push through a radical climate plan that reduces economic growth across the Western world.
Heller then cited NOAA’s sea ice extent data for the Arctic from September 16, 2012 and September 7, 2024, and found:
“This year’s minimum extent of Arctic sea ice was 26% higher than in 2012. @BBCNews said the Arctic will be ice-free by 2013.”
“They keep this information away from the news because it doesn’t serve the narrative…,” one X user commented.
