There must be no “cancelled people” in Estonia – fines, debts, or past mistakes must not erase a person’s dignity or their chance to correct their errors and return to a full and meaningful life. A bank account, home, and social status should reflect a person’s present will to live and work, not their past. The social status of those trapped in debt slavery must be restored, and they must be given real opportunities for a new life.
We must not cancel people for thinking differently politically, for speaking another language at home, or for daring to express a different opinion. A free society begins with the courage to listen – and to accept and understand what is heard.
