The new representative of the Centre Party in Tartu, Artjom, was supposed to participate today in an internal public debate within the party — something he himself agreed to when I challenged him about a week ago. He wrote to me: “Public discussion? Maybe a debate? Tell me the time and place.”
This would have been a fair opportunity to discuss differing opinions, look each other in the eye, and seek common ground. To be close to the people — not plotting behind closed doors.
Instead, Artjom — and therefore the Tartu branch of the Centre Party — sent us a letter. In veiled words, but clearly: Enn Vaarmann and I are being expelled from the party.
Not a discussion.
Not democracy.
Just silence and a slammed door.
To us — the ones who have engaged with people in Tartu. The people who have talked to us. Who started trusting the Centre Party again because of that.
It was under my leadership, as head of the Tartu region, that the Centre Party started rising again in Tartu — while across the rest of Estonia, compared to the 2021 local elections, the party has clearly lost support.
So perhaps the Centre Party doesn’t actually want a rise. Doesn’t want voters. Doesn’t want the people.
Because, as Artjom said in his “victory speech”: it’s enough to get 4–6 seats in the Tartu City Council to form a coalition with the Reform Party.
“OMG!” as the ancient Estonians used to say.
But that’s not the will of the people.
The will of the people is to get rid of the Reform rats.
What would you do if you were thrown out just for having your own thoughts — and the courage to voice them?
If you simply wanted to talk to people, truly listen to them, represent them — and finally bring their voices into power?
We are not going to stay silent.
Our response:
Now more than ever, it’s time to bring politics back to the people.
It’s time to put Plan B on the table — as an independent people’s political movement.
If you feel that the old parties no longer represent the people…
If you are tired of closed doors and backroom deals…
If you are tired of power laughing in our faces…
If you believe that Estonia deserves honest, transparent, and human politics…
Then write to me or Enn Vaarmann.
Join us. We will fight to the end.
And that means: with the Plan B people’s movement, we will bring the people 51% of the council seats in Tartu. And then — we go for the parliament.
The time is ripe — not just for empty opposition talk — but to truly, democratically TAKE POWER BACK FOR THE PEOPLE and ACT in the people’s interest!
We have Plan B.
And now — TO ACTION!
Who’s coming with us?
